World’s Largest Bar Crawl

Have you ever dreamt of breaking a world record? Well it’s time to make your dream come true! “The World’s Largest Bar Crawl” comes to Philadelphia this Saturday, May 3, from 12-8 p.m. and attempts to rewrite history in the Guinness World Records for the largest Pub Crawl.  For this to become a reality, help is needed from everyone in the Philadelphia area. To be a part of history, purchase tickets now!

Starting at noon, get scanned in at any participating bar to receive your wristband and your official map. Then you are free to venture to any bar (77 and counting!) on the map with no cover charge. Your only obligations are to drink at least 5 oz of any “beverage” at each bar, visit at least ten locations and have fun!  Thousands of fellow crawlers will be roaming the streets of Philly during this eight-hour extravaganza.

To ensure everyone’s safety during this event, “The World’s Largest Bar Crawl” has partnered with Uber to help crawlers get from bar to bar. New Uber users can use the promo code found here for a complimentary ride up to $20.

The current World Record for largest bar crawl is 4,885 participants, held by Kansas City, Missouri. So come on Philly, this may be the only chance we have to drink our way to a world record! For more information log onto the official “The Crawl” Website: or follow the crawl on Twitter:

Broad Street Foodies!

Tie up those running shoes and get ready to pace yourself. Sunday, May 4 marks the 35th annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run. The citywide event continues to grow in popularity as it boasted over 38,000 participants last year.
Runners World named the Broad Street Run as one of the fastest 10-mile courses in the country. The race begins at Central High School Athletic Field at the intersection of Broad Street and Somerville Avenue; the finish line reaches the Philadelphia Navy Yard at the end of Broad Street in South Philadelphia. The run is scenic and features sites along the way such as Temple University, City Hall, FDR Park, and the stadiums. Along the course, family and friends will be able to cheer loved ones on. Additional support comes from performances by local music groups, high school bands, and cheerleading squads.

After the race ends, runners should fuel up and revitalize their bodies. Lucky for them, Breslow Partners has already prepared a few recommendations:

Xfinity Live, located at 1100 Pattison Ave. in South Philadelphia, invites runners to recharge at their array of restaurants, such as PBR Bar & Grill and Victory Beer Hall. They feature long beer hall tables, outdoor seating, and for fun, a mechanical bull.

Other participants can head over to the Reading Terminal Market at 11th and Arch streets. In this food oasis, participants can enjoy DiNic’s famous roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwich that was crowned the best sandwich in America by the Travel Channel’s very own Adam Richman.

If you are craving an Asian inspired dish, a trip to Vietnam Restaurant in Chinatown will satisfy your hunger needs. The restaurant sits at 221 N. 11th St between Race and Vine streets. In 2005, Philadelphia Style named this Vietnamese haven the best restaurant in Chinatown.

This year’s participants can pick up their bib from the Pennsylvania Convention Center Hall A, on the following dates:

  • Friday, May 2, 2014 from 11- 7 P.M.
  • Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9- 6 P.M.

Lastly, please remember that proper training for a 10-mile run is necessary. Two nights before the race, ensure a diet full of carbs. Before, during, and after the race, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Breslow Partners is extremely proud of all Broad Street Run participants. We wish you guys the best of luck. See you at the finish line!

Pet Valu’s Pet Appreciation Weekend April 26 & 27

photoWhat a scene it’s going to be: People with their pooches, playing games and making new friends, and animal lovers sharing stories and advice. On Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, Pet Valu presents Pet Appreciation Weekend (PAW), a celebration of our domestic critters and those who love them. There will be games, refreshments, giveaways and pet adoptions at all Pet Valu stores. While the events are focused around the weekend, Pet Valu and their generous customers will be raising money, donating food and supplies to local animal charities all month long.

PAW is a lighthearted, family-fun event with a serious message. Each year there are 5 to 7 million cats and dogs entering US shelters, and there are many others out in the streets. While we Americans spend about $45 billion annually on everything from pet food to grooming, pet homelessness remains a major problem; the ASPCA estimates the number of feral cats alone in the tens of millions. Pet Valu sees Pet Appreciation Weekend as a chance to build awareness and raise much-needed funds for local animal agencies and services. This is your chance to join Pet Valu in helping animals in need. There’ll be purrs and barks heard around the country! For more information, visit or call 1-800-PET-VALU (738-8258).
